  1. Little Oneroa

This reserve has lovely coastal views and a safe, sandy swimming beach. There is plenty of parking and it is within walking distance of Oneroa Village.

It is popular with young families and al-fresco diners on summer evenings with coffee, ice cream, pizza and fish and chips available next door.

Access from Goodwin Avenue. Pedestrian can also access from Ocean View Road and the adjoining Newton Reserve.

A playground, toilets and changing rooms, parking, picnic tables and seating, barbecue and drinking fountains are inside the park.

This playground is seamlessly integrated with the beach, with a sand play surface sitting by open grassy areas and a large white sand area for games.

2. Palm Beach

Lovely coastal reserve, great for swimming and having fun.

A playground, picnic tables, barbecues, drinking fountain, and seating are inside the reserve.

This boat-shaped playground is situated on a small grassy reserve that backs onto the beach. It has a sand play surface, shade sails and is well connected with the rest of the reserve with good walkways.

Age group - Suitable for:

  • preschool (0 - 4) years

  • child (5 - 8) years

  • child (9 - 12) years.

  • Imaginative play

  • Rocking.

Playground surface - Sand.

Shade - Shade sails cover the play area. You will need to bring a hat and sunscreen.

Fencing - The playground is not fenced.

 

3. Surfdale Hall

Coastal reserve overlooking Huruhi Bay. The reserve is home to the bookable Surfdale Hall, and has a great mix of open grassed space, gardens and bush.

Access the reserve from Hamilton Road, The Esplanade and Lannan Road.

A playground, toilets, basketball half-court, barbecue, picnic tables and seating, drinking fountain and beach shower are inside the reserve.

 

4. Skate Park

Come and enjoy the location and the number of activities available at this reserve.

A skate park, public toilet, picnic table, seating, water fountain and barbecue shelter are inside the reserve.

Follow these rules to keep yourself and others safe:

  • Wear a well-fitting helmet and other protective gear.

  • Skate to your ability – don't try new tricks until you're confident.

  • Don't sit in or walk through the skating area.

  • Skate parks are for everyone – take turns, be courteous and have fun!
